The workshop was organized to provide information about the climate change situation, introduce and discuss technologies, methods, and adaptation solutions that can be applied in the Mekong Delta region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Attending the workshop were representatives of leaders of the Institute of Socio-Economy of Can Tho city, leaders of Can Tho City Cooperative Alliance, leaders of Can Tho City Farmers&#8217; Association; Delegates from the People&#8217;s Committees of districts, departments, branches, institutes and universities in Can Tho city; Application centers in the Mekong Delta&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the workshop, the presenters presented papers: &#8220;Assessing the risk of flooding in the Mekong Delta under the influence of the sea under climate change conditions and some solutions&#8221; &#8211; Dr. Phan Manh Hung &#8211; Director of the Center for Research and Exploitation of Marine and Coastal Resources, Institute of Marine Technology; \u201cApplication of technology for Can Tho in climate change conditions\u201d Dr. Nguyen Trong Phuoc &#8211; Mekong Delta High-Tech Agricultural Research Institute, &#8220;The role of Silicon in sustainable rice production to cope with climate change for the Mekong Delta&#8221; &#8211; Dr. Nguyen The Cuong &#8211; Director of the Center for Biotechnology Application and High-tech Agriculture, Mekong Delta Rice Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vietnam is ranked 23\/30 countries strongly affected by climate change, and the Mekong Delta is warned to be one of the three deltas with the largest flood and land loss in the world. Climate change and rising sea levels have been identified as inevitable trends that must be lived with and adapted to, and must turn challenges into opportunities.
