At the seminar, the delegates listened to experts, scientists and businesses reporting and discussing some achievements and results on the application of radiation and radioisotope technology in a number of fields. Specifically, the results of isotope technique application in the study of underground water resources in the Mekong Delta; the role of nuclear and isotope techniques in studying the trend of changing Vietnam&#8217;s coastline under the impact of climate change and sea level rise; application of high-tech radiotherapy by TrueBeam\u2013Varian machine at Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital; Hybrid materials of irradiated origin, important parent components of Soc Trang rice hybrids&#8230; On that basis, the delegates discussed the needs and solutions for cooperation to enhance the development and application of related technologies for socio-economic development in the Mekong Delta region.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On May 10, in Can Tho City, the Atomic Energy Department &#8211; Ministry of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Union of Science and Technology Associations and the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho held a workshop on &#8220;Application of radiation technology for the socio-economic development of the Mekong Delta\u201d.
