On the afternoon of August 28, 2020, the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City held the Science and Technology Council to take over the project “Application of 5-axis CNC machine for automatic billet feeding in wood product processing” conducted by the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City. The project is aimed at replacing existing manual woodworking machines to increase productivity (the output of raw wood materials increases from 20m3 to 50m3 per month, which increases productivity by 1.5 times per ladder); reduce production workers from 6 people to 3 people, reduce labor by 50%; reduce the cost of electricity produced by 25% for a process; increase product quality (product accuracy reaches from 0.5-1mm).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Semac’s current advanced CNC technology – Quoc Duy, is designed with 4 shaft heads (including 1 saw blade head, 1 drill bit, 1 square chisel, 1 milling spindle) and flexible operation according to 5 directions X, Y, Z, A, C. Uses of the machine: mortise, profile, fine-cut, drill holes, adjust lines, produce many products that can be installed, disassembled, limited adhesive , do not use screws. The machine can produce furniture items using joints such as interior doors, cabinets, tables, chairs, shelves, etc. SSM-1800H 5-axis CNC machining machine is composed of 2 main parts: mechanical part and electrical control part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the time of project implementation, it has been shown that productivity per month increases by 1.5 times, helping businesses increase revenue and meet increasing demands of customers; workers reduced from 6 people to 2 people, so enterprises can reduce production costs, increase profits, reduce dependence on manual labor and stable productivity; Product quality increased, the product reached a high accuracy of about 0.7mm. This helps the product to achieve higher aesthetics, increase competitiveness in the market, and at the same time, the assembly will be faster, easier and more efficient; The average cost of electricity produced per year is reduced by about 31%, helping businesses reduce production costs per product unit, increase profits, and at the same time save power consumption and reduce CO2 emissions into the environment. ; reduce environmental pollution in the production area and surrounding areas, and at the same time protect the working environment of workers to be clean and less dusty. In particular, the payback period of the project is relatively short, about 24 months. Therefore, the project brings high economic efficiency and low investment risk. This project should be replicated for furniture manufacturing enterprises in Can Tho city and Cuu Long river delta provinces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The council has agreed to take over the project, but the project manager needs to edit and add some contents according to the comments of the council members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
