On the afternoon of March 18, 2024, the Long An Center for Application, Engineering, and Scientific Information Technology collaborated to organize the workshop titled “Evaluation Report of the Experimental Results of the Cutting and Shredding Unit for the Water Hyacinth Harvesting Machine.” This workshop is part of the national research, application, and technology development project titled “Research, Design, and Manufacture of a Device Combination for Collecting, Preprocessing, and Harvesting Water Hyacinths in Canals and Streams in Long An and Neighboring Provinces.” The project is led by Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, with Associate Professor Dr. Nguyễn Tấn Tiến as the project manager.
Attendees included Mr. Nguyễn Minh Hải, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Long An Province, representatives from various provincial departments, sectors, and companies, as well as representatives from the Department of Science and Technology centers in other provinces and cities, including Cần Thơ, Vĩnh Long, and Tiền Giang.
The workshop was organized to present the research results achieved thus far, gather feedback from experts, scientists, institutes, universities, and relevant authorities to refine the results and propose plans for utilizing the outcomes of the project.
The workshop featured several presentations, including:
- Report on Research Activities for the Design and Completion of the Water Hyacinth Harvesting System by Associate Professor Dr. Nguyễn Tấn Tiến from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.
- Report on the Experimental Operation of the Water Hyacinth Harvesting System by Engineer Vũ Viết Toàn from the National Key Laboratory of Digital Control and System Engineering.
- Proposal for Implementing the System into Practical Application for Finalization by Master Lê Thanh Sơn from Long An Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing Corporation.
Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to watch a video demonstration of the water hyacinth harvesting system, created by the research team.
