Today, tracing the origins of agricultural products and goods has become an urgent need for consumers and businesses involved in production and trade. The application of technology and data management solutions not only enhances information transparency but also strengthens market trust in Vietnamese agricultural products. Recognizing this importance, the Department of Quality Management for Agricultural and Aquatic Products organized training on managing data for tracing agricultural products for businesses, cooperatives, and farmers in Can Tho City.
The training session was held to provide necessary knowledge and skills for businesses and cooperatives in collecting, managing, and using data to trace product origins. Experts from government management agencies and technology companies shared information on the importance of traceability and introduced current data management tools.
Through this program, participating entities will master:
- How to build a data system for product origins from production to consumption.
- The use of QR codes in traceability to ensure data transparency and immutability.
- Technological solutions to enhance supply chain management efficiency and improve product quality.
On the morning of September 18, 2024, the training session featured experts presenting specialized content directly from agencies managing the traceability system and the supply chain of products and goods, as well as transportation systems in the city. Presentations included “Introduction to the Product Traceability Management System of Can Tho City; Instructions for Using the Traceability Management System Portal of Can Tho City” by Mr. Tran The Duy – Head of the Science and International Cooperation Department at the Center for Scientific and Technological Advancement; “Introduction to the Construction and Verification of Safe Food Supply Chains according to Decision No. 3075/QD-BNN-QLCL of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development” presented by Ms. Le Thi Nhu Y – Official at the Department of Quality Management for Agricultural Products; and “Solutions to Promote the Transportation and Market Development of Agricultural Products in Can Tho City” by representatives from Phuong Trang FUTA Express Company.
Over 50 delegates from business entities and cooperatives in Can Tho City attended the training session, providing numerous comments and contributions, and receiving significant support from specialized agencies, contributing to the success of the training. In the future, management agencies will continue to organize more training programs while enhancing connections between production units, technology suppliers, and certification organizations to promote the application of product traceability. This is considered a necessary step for Can Tho to develop sustainably, enhancing the reputation and position of Vietnamese agricultural products in both domestic and international markets.
