On the afternoon of March 26, 2024, at the hall of the People’s Committee of Tan Hoa Commune, Chau Thanh A District, Hau Giang Province, the Center for Application of Science and Technology Progress in Can Tho organized a seminar on “Technical Advances in Mango Cultivation According to VietGAP Standards and VietGAP Certification.” This seminar is part of the provincial science and technology project titled “Building a Model for Applying Scientific Techniques in Mango Cultivation Meeting VietGAP Standards and Traceability Using Blockchain Technology in Hau Giang Province.”
The seminar was attended by representatives from the Department of Science and Technology of Hau Giang Province; the Sub-Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection of Hau Giang; the Center for Science and Technology Information and Application of Hau Giang; the Agricultural Extension Center and Agricultural Services of Hau Giang; the Agricultural Extension Station and the Crop Production and Plant Protection Station of Chau Thanh A District; farmers participating in cooperatives from Chau Thanh A, Chau Thanh, and Phung Hiep districts; representatives from the project management agency, the project management board, and various media agencies.
During the seminar, attendees listened to presentations on topics such as “The Cultivation Model of Hoa Loc Mango (Mangifera indica L.) in Chau Thanh A District, Hau Giang Province” by Master Nguyen Huynh Duong from the College of Agriculture – Can Tho University, and “The VietGAP Certification Process in Crop Production and Some Challenges in Meeting VietGAP Requirements” by Expert Le Thi Minh Nguyet from NHONHO Technology Co., Ltd. At the seminar, the project management agency awarded VietGAP certification for 100 hectares of mango cultivation land, including 40 hectares of Hoa Loc mango and 60 hectares of Taiwanese mango, to 133 farmers in Chau Thanh District, Chau Thanh A District, and Phung Hiep District, Hau Giang Province.
