On the morning of March 29, 2023, Can Tho University of Technology – Technology solemnly held the 10th anniversary of establishment, 42 years of construction and development.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Thuc Hien – Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People’s Committee, Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy – Director of Higher Education Department (Ministry of Education and Training), leaders, former leaders of Can Tho city, Departments and Branches in Can Tho city. On the school side, there was the participation of the People’s Teacher. Assoc. Dr. Huynh Thanh Nha – Principal; Dr. Do Thi Tuyet Nhung – President of the School Council, and members of the Board of Directors, lecturers, officials, students and students of the University.
Can Tho University of Engineering and Technology was established under Decision No. 249/QD-TTg dated January 29, 2013 of the Prime Minister on the basis of upgrading the Center for In-service University of Can Tho. The school has the task of training high-quality management, technical and technological human resources serving Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta. From 5 faculties in charge of 4 training programs in the first year of establishment, the university now has 7 faculties in charge of 22 training programs. From 297 students in the first academic year of 2013-2014, to the school year 2022-2023, the university has recruited more than 1,500 students, bringing the total number of students to over 5,000 students. In recent years, Can Tho University of Technology and Technology has cooperated with prestigious universities to train more than 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students to serve socio-economic development in the Mekong Delta region and the whole country. The rate of students having jobs after graduation is more than 92%. Many alumni of the school have become leaders, scientists, and successful entrepreneurs.
At the ceremony, 01 collective and 01 individual of the University received certificates of merit from the Prime Minister; 10 collectives and 14 individuals received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the People’s Committee of Can Tho city; 06 collectives and 06 individuals received certificates of merit from the Minister of Education and Training.
