On the morning of November 6, the Ministry of Industry and Trade coordinated with the People’s Committee of Can Tho City to organize the opening ceremony of the Vietnam International Agriculture Fair 2019, with the theme “Science and technology to support production and consumption of agricultural products”.
Vietnam International Agriculture Fair is an agricultural trade promotion activity held annually in Can Tho city from 2004 to present. The fair aims to contribute to supporting businesses in brand promotion, creating opportunities to find new potential customers, directing businesses to assess market trends, cooperate in developing production technology… From there, develop the right strategy in production and business development, implement the master plan on agricultural production development to 2020 and look to 2030.

This year’s fair attracts 500 booths of 300 participating units and enterprises, focusing on the following industries: machinery and equipment, agricultural mechanics; industrial-agricultural production and processing lines; agricultural materials; type of tree; Processed agricultural products, clean and safe agricultural product models… come from foreign enterprises and joint ventures: Korea, Japan, Thailand, India, Taiwan, Israel, Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia … Domestic units and enterprises: Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Can Tho, Vinh Long, Yen Bai, Quang Nam, Binh Duong, Lam Dong, Hai Duong, Phu Yen, Phu Tho, Bac Kan, Binh Thuan, Dak Lak, Dien Bien and other provinces in the Mekong Delta.

During the fair, from the 6th to the 10th of November, many activities were organized: Workshop to welcome the delegation of Hong Kong rice importers to discuss the export of rice products; Mekong Connect Forum 2019; Photo exhibition and documentary film about the ASEAN community. And some side programs: introducing farmers’ technical improvement initiatives; welcoming activities for cooperative delegations, farmers’ associations of provinces…
