On August 02, 2023, CASTA held a scientific conference with the theme ” Cay Cang cua – research and application in medicine”. This is a workshop within the content of the city-level science and technology project “Research on chemical composition and biological effects towards antibacterial, antifungal and antioxidant of Cay Cang cua – (Peperomia pellucdia)”. The project is carried out by CASTA.
The workshop was organized to introduce some of the research results that have been achieved, as well as receive comments from experts, scientists, Institutes – Universities, authorities to help complete the report of the project before official acceptance.
At the workshop, the presenters presented presentations: “Potential of exploiting herbs as additives in food processing in the Mekong Delta”. “Study on chemical composition and biological effects towards antibacterial, antifungal and antioxidant of Cay Cang cua – (Peperomia pellucdia)”, “Methods to test the effect of biological chemicals on cells – (Cytotoxicity Assay)”.
The delegates exchanged and clarified the contents of the research team and proposed a number of contents to expand the topic such as: standardization of raw material areas, production of multi-material extracts, assessment of biological activities of compounds in Cay Cang cua – (Peperomia pellucdia). Speaking at the workshop, Ms. Nguyen Thi To Uyen, Director of CASTA suggested the research team complete the contents of the topic. At the same time, CASTA wishes to continue to receive cooperation from experts and institutions in implementing research topics/projects and applying technology in production and life especially topics/projects in the field of biotechnology, conservation of genetic diversity.
