Acceptance of the project of the rural mountainous program “Application of scientific and technological advances to build a model of high-quality flower production in Can Tho city”

On February 11, 2020, the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City. Can Tho has established a committee to accept the project under the mountainous rural program "Application of advanced science and technology to build a model of high-quality flower production in Can Tho city" led by Master Nguyen Thi To. Uyen is the director, the Center for Application of Science and Technology Advancement is the unit in charge of implementation.
The goal of the project is to successfully apply scientific and technological advances to propagation and production of valuable flowers, creating a specialized flower production area, contributing to increasing income for farmers in Hoa village. ornamental plant in Pho Tho - Ba Bo, Can Tho city.
Accordingly, the management board transferred and received technological processes for in vitro propagation and commercial flower production on three subjects: heat-resistant roses, gerberas, chrysanthemums; building models of application of technical advances in seed production and growing high-quality commercial flowers, including 02 propagation models and 03 commercial flower production models; training staff and technicians on in vitro propagation technology, producing potted flowers on an industrial scale, organizing training for households producing flowers in the city.
After 30 months of implementation, the Project Management Board has completed the following contents: Transfer and application of 07 technical processes (Process of technology for in vitro propagation of gerbera, technological process of in vitro propagation of gerbera. in vitro chrysanthemum, technological process for crowning gerbera, propagation process of heat-resistant roses, technological process of planting and caring for heat-resistant rose plants, technological process of planting and caring for gerbera plants, technological process of growing and caring for chrysanthemums); building a model of breeding and growing commercial flowers on an industrial scale in a net house; trained 10 technicians specialized in in vitro propagation technology, flower production and preservation on an industrial scale; organized 03 training courses for 180 farmers to master the technical process of commercial flower production on an industrial scale in net houses; Promote products and find potential markets.
Before the results achieved, the Council allowed the project to be accepted, but it was necessary to amend and complete some contents according to the suggestions of the Council members.
