In celebration of the 114th anniversary of International Women’s Day on March 8 and the 1984 uprising of the Trung Sisters, the grassroots union of the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City organized a flower arrangement and traditional cake decoration contest. This contest helped participants learn more about the diversity of traditional cakes in the nation, expanding knowledge about cakes and decoration techniques for family gatherings. Through this event, the grassroots union created a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere, fostering competition and interaction among the union teams in honor of International Women’s Day (March 8, 1910 – March 8, 2024).

The contest was part of the “Vietnamese Ao Dai Week” initiative, celebrating the 114th anniversary of International Women’s Day, launched by the Women’s Union of the city from March 1 to March 8, 2024, with a collective wearing of Ao Dai on March 8, 2024. The initiative encourages female staff, union members, and workers to wear Ao Dai when participating in activities and events organized by their agencies, units, or localities.
