On July 26, the Department of Science and Technology (Science and Technology) of Can Tho City coordinated with the Department of Market Development and Science and Technology Enterprises (Ministry of Science and Technology), Saigon Innovation Hub (Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology) to organize a seminar on “Linking to build and develop the innovation startup ecosystem in the Mekong Delta region”.
The workshop aims to create favorable conditions for supporting organizations, individuals, groups of individuals and innovative start-up businesses (IREs) in the Mekong Delta to access and participate in the tasks of the Project “Supporting ecosystems” national STI status to 2025” of the Government. At the same time, promoting activities of linking and developing the EE Ecosystem in Can Tho City and other provinces in the region.
The workshop took place with 2 sessions: Sharing activities and experiences in linking and building EE Ecosystem (1st session); seminar “Solutions to develop innovative start-up ecosystem” (2nd session). In which, the first session introduced an overview of the eco-industrial eco-system; the role of investors in promoting the activities of the EE ecosystem; construction and development of innovative industrial zones in Can Tho city; promoting innovation and entrepreneurship – Microsoft Vietnam’s experience; Smartcheck’s startup journey. The second session focused on the discussion with the topic “Solutions to develop the EE ecosystem in the Mekong Delta” to discuss the contents of the role of the actors in the construction and development of the EE ecosystem; opportunities, challenges and solutions in promoting the participation of actors in the EE ecosystem; sharing experiences and practices on innovative startups, approaches of startups,…
The conference also had the participation of 20 Startups, innovative start-up businesses in Can Tho City and Mekong Delta provinces in the fields of information technology (AI, Blockchain, IoT), services, agriculture, education. On this occasion, the city’s Department of Science and Technology launched the Can Tho Startup and Innovation Hub – CASTI HUB. CASTI HUB was established with the mission of connecting and promoting the complete development of the EE Ecosystem in Can Tho City; linking resources to support individuals, groups of individuals with start-up activities, innovation skills.
