Dr. Do Hoai Nam – former Director of the Department of Technology Evaluation – Appraisal and Assessment (Ministry of Science and Technology) said: “From 2007 to now, the Ministry of Science and Technology has coordinated with other ministries and sectors. and provinces and centrally-run cities have organized 4 national and international Techmart events, 20 Techmart and TechDemo with regional and specialized scale, mobilizing 5,908 participating units with 6,437 booths, introducing and offers 24,802 technologies and equipment. Through Techmart, TechDemo, participating units have signed 6,768 memorandums of understanding and technology purchase and sale contracts with a total transaction value of VND 8,306 billion.
However, our country’s technology market is still mainly looking for buying and selling of machinery and equipment, there are not many transactions with high technology content such as technology trading, patent rights… Although at present, even In Techmart periods, there are many needs for technology and equipment transfer, but most of them just stop at the level of information research and survey. In addition, endogenous scientific and technological research products are often put on the balance sheet by the units, compared with those supplied abroad. Without specific information, outstanding advantages, and better advice, domestic products will hardly have the opportunity to compete despite guaranteed quality, low or equivalent prices and warranty and warranty conditions. better maintained than imported equipment”.
The speakers also said that the science and technology market in Vietnam has a lot of potential but also many challenges. According to TS. Huynh Kim Tuoc – Director of Startup & Innovation Hub (SIHUB) said that the market demand for technology is very large such as application technology for banking, aviation, consumer shopping, training, etc. many challenges are creative business, creative goods production capacity, trading and trading skills, science and technology strategies at all levels, the three-way relationship between State – Enterprise – Research.
